Application Filtering
Application Filtering allows preventing applications from being started by your employees. The application start policy is applied in several minutes on all the computers.
The application start policy allows doing the following:
- Forbid running certain applications (for example, games and instant messengers)
- Allow starting only specified applications (for example, allow running only applications from MS Office package)
- Forbid running applications at specified time (for example, during working hours)
Rules are used to control the application start policy. When you create a rule, you can customize it flexibly. You can set the time interval when this rule is working, specify lists of applications, users and computers. You can set the entities directly, as well as groups of entities in the lists. Find more details on grouping the entities in the Object Grouping section. In the lists you can specify exceptions - entities or groups of entities that don't comply with the rule. The application can be identified both by the unique signature of the executable file and by its name.
